FAIRMONT – For the 2nd consecutive week, East Bladen’s Eagles placed 3rd in their Waccamaw Conference golf match behind first-place Whiteville and 2nd place South Columbus.

Whiteville’s 377 total Monday was 10 strokes better than South Columbus’ 387. East Bladen posted a 418 total followed by East Columbus (423) and West Columbus (444). Heide Trask only had 1 golfer competing and did not qualify for the team competition.

Wolfpack golfer Colby Hooks captured medalist honors for the 2nd consecutive week firing an 87 to edge teammate Mark Rich and East Columbus’ Caden Carroll who both carded 89s. South Columbus’ Noah Green placed 4th with a 91, and teammate Ayden Beck and Whiteville’s Price Wheatley both shot 92s to tie for 5th.

East Bladen’s Connor Smith was 6th with a 98. Other Eagle golfers competing included: Henry Simmons (105), Zac Metz (106) and Tony Todd (109).

The Eagles are slated to play in a non-conference match at noon Tuesday at Vineland Country Club in Whiteville.
