LUMBER BRIDGE – For the 2nd consecutive week, West Bladen’s Knights placed 3rd in their Southeastern Athletic Conference golf match Monday behind first-place Midway and 2nd place Clinton.

Midway finished 20 strokes ahead of Clinton with a 341 total. Clinton recorded a 361, and West Bladen was only 6 strokes behind the Dark Horses with a 367 total. Fairmont took 4th place with a 414 followed by St. Pauls (476). Host Red Springs only had 2 golfers competing and did not qualify for the team competition.

Clinton’s Finn Howard captured medalist honors with a 76 after finishing 2nd last week. Midway’s Dakota Bedard was 2 shots behind Howard with a 78. Last week’s medalist, Midway’s Kaison Marley posted an 83 and finished third.

West Bladen’s Daniel Gustafson and Clinton’s Hayden Boney fired 87’s to tie for 4th place. Midway’s Ryan Naylor was 6th with an 88.

Other golfers and their scores for the Knights were: Nolan Sessoms (91), Seth Faircloth (93), Colin Britt (96) and Chason Harris (107).

Clinton will host Monday’s SAC match.
