We have many events coming up this weekend. The Bladen County Firefighters Association will hold a fundraiser for the Bladen County Training Facility, First Missionary Baptist Church will hold a Family Fun Day, Purdie United Methodist Church has a fundraiser planned as well.

March 12: The Bladen County Firefighter’s Association will have a Barbecue Benefit Sale on Saturday, March 12 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Bladen County Training Facility (formerly White Lake Prison) located on US 701 South near White Lake. Barbecue plates cost $7 each. Boston Butts will also be sold at a cost of $25. All Boston Butts must be pre-ordered by March 3. Contact any Bladen County Fire Department for Boston Butt tickets.
Saturday, March 12: First Family Fun Day at 11:00 A.M. at Lumberton Bowling Alley with First Missionary Baptist Church
Saturday, March 12: Join a park ranger and learn about the geological mysteries of the Carolina Bays. Formation theories and the natural communities associated with Carolina Bays will be discussed. Participants should meet at the Jones Lake State Park Visitor Center at 10 a.m. Call the Park office at 910-588-4550 for more information. This event is free of charge and open to the general public.

Friday, March 11: Learn about your good health and enjoy a healthy breakfast on Friday, March 11, at 8 a.m. in Southeastern Health’s Community Health Education Center (C.H.E.C.) beside Shoe Show in Biggs Park Mall. Lumberton Dentist Dr. Desiree Walker will present a program on dispelling dental health myths. The event is sponsored by Biggs Park Mall and C.H.E.C. For more information, call 910-671-9393.
