Roger Duncan, the grandson of former Clarkton High School basketball coach Harold Ford and son of former basketball standout Sheila Ford Duncan, signed Monday to play football at Union College.

Duncan, a receiver, is a multi-sport athlete at Warren East High School in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Harold Ford died in July 2021 at 90 years old. He led Clarkton to 5 state championship games in basketball, winning the state championship in 1985.

Sheila Ford Duncan is a member of the UNC-Asheville Hall of Fame. She led UNC-Asheville to the NAIA national championship and was the 1984 Most Valuable Player. She helped Clarkton reach the 1979 state championship game, losing to Belhaven. The Blue Devils were 82-12 in her four seasons playing high school basketball.
