Bladen Community CollegeReverend Harry Hines will give the keynote address at the Bladen Community College Black History Month program on Thursday, February 19, at 11 a.m. in the auditorium.

A native of Bladen County and resident of Bladenboro, Reverend Hines attended public school in Virginia and continued his education first at Bladen Community College, where he earned an associate degree, and later at Liberty University, where he completed his baccalaureate degree in religion.  He is currently enrolled a master’s degree program in religion, also at Liberty University.

He has been a licensed minister in the A.M.E. Zion Church for nearly 30 years and as a bi-vocational pastor has worked for Century-Link Telecommunications (formerly Carolina Telephone Co. in this region) for 35 years.

Over his years in the ministry he has filled a number of special appointments within the Conference including that of a delegate to the General Conference.  He has also been active in community development organizations over the years.  He is also well known around the region as a musician.

He is the author of Strengthening the Local Church through Evangelism and Discipleship, a course of study manual for new members.  In addition, he has provided graphics for a number of publications by other authors.

The program is open to the public and everyone is invited.
