Local and state officials are encouraging residents to begin making preparations in the event of a brush from Hurricane Irma. The latest forecast track released by the National Weather Service shows Irma making a northward turn meaning North and South Carolina could be impacted by the storm.
Officials in South Carolina have issued a State of Emergency on Wednesday afternoon which allows officials there to set up an Emergency Operations Center and begin preparations for an impact by the storm.
