Freshman Xavier Wooten batted 4-4 and walloped a triple to lead East Bladen to a 10-4 Four County Conference jayvee baseball victory over visiting Clinton Wednesday.

After Clinton grabbed an early 2-0 lead, the Eagles pulled even with 2 runs in the second. Wooten singled, Nicholas Collins walked, Tanner Clark belted a single and both Wooten and Collins scored.

The Dark Horses edged back ahead 3-2 in the top of the third, but Quinton Bedsole led off the home third with a walk, and Devan Stocks, Wooten, Daniel Elkins and Collins followed with singles that produced 4 runs and a 6-3 East Bladen lead.

Michael Walter smacked a single and Bedsole walked to begin the Eagle fourth inning. Tanner Meares hammered a 2-run triple, and Wooten smashed a triple and scored when Elkins slammed the third triple of the inning that put East Bladen up 10-3.

Wooten scored 3 runs in the game. Elkins finished 2-4 with a triple, 2 runs batted in and a run scored. Stocks batted 2-4 and scored twice.

Meares had the 2 –run triple, and Walter, Collins and Clark added one hit each to the 12-hit Eagle attack. Clark and Collins drove in a run each, and Walter scored a run.

Stocks pitched a complete game and struck out 8 for the Eagles.

East Bladen improves to 3-2 in conference play and 5-3-1 overall.
