Sophmores Jonathan Robinson and Trey Storms cracked 3 hits each to lead West Bladen to a 13-6 non-conference jayvee baseball victory at St. Pauls Monday.

Caleb Sholar pitched the first four innings for the Knights and picked up the win. Derrick Long worked the final two innings to close out the victory.

T. J. Guyton and Colby Smith drew walks to begin the West first inning.  Storms slammed a double to drive in Guyton, and Robinson drove in Smith.

Storms scored on Sholar’s sacrifice, and Cameron Peterson knocked in Robinson with the fourth run of the inning.

Guyton drew another walk and raced home on Smith’s single. Jeremy Pait belted a single, and Storms followed with another single. Robinson blasted a triple to clean the bases and stretch the Knight lead to 8-1.

St. Pauls closed the gap to 8-6 in the middle innings, but the Knights broke loose for 5 runs in the top of the sixth. An error on a bases-loaded grounder scored 3 runs.

Storms batted 3-3 with a double and 2 runs batted in.  Robinson was 3-4 with a triple and 4 rbi’s. Brandon Strange hammered a double, and Smith, Peterson, Jeremy Pait and Dalton Pait smacked one hit each.

Coach Rick Rhoda’s Knight jayvees will travel to South Robeson Thursday for a 4 p.m. game.
