A 10-2 second quarter spurt propelled East Bladen’s Eagles to their first jayvee boys basketball victory of the season 42-29 over visiting Pender Monday night in Four County Conference action.
The Eagles trailed 6-5 at the first quarter break, but Shawn Marshall and Messiah Leach nailed 3-point shots and Marshall and Darrell Banks added baskets as East Bladen took a 15-8 halftime lead.
Center Zaire Turner-Dobson and Marshall scored 4 points each in the third quarter as the Eagles rode a 16-10 surge to a 31-18 lead.
Marshall led the East Bladen scoring with 12 points, and Turner-Dobson followed with 11 points. Leach added 6 points, and Braydon McDowell tallied 5 points for the winners.
East Bladen will travel to Heide Trask Wednesday for a 4:30 game.
