DUNN– Jemari McNeil and Wyatt Herring ignited a 17-0 3rd period burst with 5 points each that carried Midway to a 39-25 victory over West Bladen Friday in Southeastern Athletic Conference jayvee boys’ basketball action.

Elijah McCollum threw in 2 baskets, and Charles Williams tossed in another bucket to keep the Knights within 8-6 early. Noah Hall fired in 2 baskets in the 2nd period, and Gavin Elks drilled in a 3-point shot. Donovon Tubbs pumped in a basket and a free throw to keep West within 18-16 at halftime.

After the Raider blitz opened up a 35-16 lead, Tubbs, center Tyleak Ballard, Hall and Jamari Adams-Peterson rang up baskets in the final quarter, and Ballard added a free throw.

Hall led the Knights with 6 points, Tubbs followed with 5 points, and McCollum totaled 4 points. McNeil paced the Midway scoring with 9 points, and Herring and Walker Holmes finished with 7 points each.

The Knight jayvees concluded their season with a 4-8 league record and 6-13 overall mark.
