LAKE WACCAMAW – Anthony Cowan and Jordan Underwood combined for 20 points Friday night to lead West Bladen to a 35-27 Three Rivers Conference jayvee boys basketball victory over East Columbus.
Underwood and Cowan finished with 10 points each, and Keshawn Ballard added 5 points for the winners.
Cowan drained a 3-point shot and 2 other baskets in the first period as the Knights raced to a 16-6 lead. Underwood bombed in a 3-point shot, and Ballard, Javontae Matthews and Travail Baldwin tossed in a basket each.
Underwood nailed a 3-point shot and another basket in the second quarter, Cowan buried another 3-point shot, and Anthony Mitchell dropped in a basket as the Knights padded their lead to 26-10 at halftime.
Matthews and Josiah Brown tossed in baskets in the third quarter as West Bladen maintained a 31-17 lead. Ballard sank 3 free throws in the final period, and Underwood made 2 free throws.
Coach Jason Hemingway’s Knights improved to 6-8 on the season and will host East Bladen Monday.
