SHALLOTTE — West Brunswick raced to a 20-7 halftime lead enroute to a 43-24 non-conference jayvee boys basketball victory over East Bladen Tuesday. It was the season opener for the Eagles.

Kameron Metters threw in 5 of his team-high 11 points for West in the 1st half, and teammate A. J. Thomas tallied 5 of his 8 points before intermission. Nicholas Graham scored 7 of his 10 points for the Trojans in the 3rd quarter.

Braylon Cromartie fired in a 3-point shot and 2 other baskets for the Eagles before halftime then pumped in 2 more baskets and a free throw in the 2nd half to finish with a game-high 12 points.

Kyran McKoy tossed in a trio of baskets in the 2nd half for East Bladen, and Khalil McKoy buried a pair of 3-point shots. Both McKoys finished with 6 points each.

The Eagles will travel to rival West Bladen Tuesday, while West Brunswick will host South Columbus Tuesday.
