ELIZABETHTOWN – Freshman quarterback Jacob Nixon threw 3 touchdown passes to sophomore Nazire Smith on Thursday night to lead East Bladen to a 46-6 Three Rivers Conference jayvee football victory over Red Springs.
Sophomore Robert McKoy ran for 2 Eagle touchdowns, and Sherman Monroe and freshman NyQuan Richardson scored one touchdown each for the winners.
The Eagles recovered their own kickoff to open the game and scored 2 plays later. Red Springs fumbled on their next possession, and East Bladen capitalized with a touchdown to take an early 16-0 lead.
The Eagles improved to 2-1 in the conference and 3-2 overall and will travel to West Columbus on Thursday.
