LAKE WACCAMAW – Freshman center Harmony Somerville scored all 18 East Columbus points Friday as the Lady Gators defeated West Bladen 18-7 in Three Rivers Conference jayvee girls basketball action.
Xia Phair threw in a first quarter basket, and Makayla Wright sank a free throw as the Lady Knights jumped in front 3-0. Kirsten Warrick canned a second period free throw to keep West within 7-4 at halftime.
Warrick tossed in a fourth quarter basket and led the Lady Knight scoring with 3 points. Freshman Whitney McLean canned a free throw in the final period.
The Lady Knights, now 3-8, will host East Bladen Monday.
