BLADENBORO – Midway defeated West Bladen 2-0 Thursday in Southeastern Athletic Conference junior varsity volleyball action by set scores of 25-17 and 25-22.
Freshman Ellie Kinlaw hammered in 9 service points including an ace, 4 attacks and a block for West. Tah’lea Bethea slammed in 7 attacks, 6 kills and 5 blocks. Kimberly Dowless dished out 4 assists and tallied 3 service points including an ace.
Helaina Conklin knocked in 3 service points including an ace, 5 attacks and 2 kills for the Lady Knights. Sophomore Kali Allen racked up 2 attacks, 2 kills, an assist and 2 digs. Brenna Hester smacked in 3 service points and came up with 2 digs.
West sophomore Makenna Thurman pounded in 11 attacks and 4 kills. Sophomore Jahyra Priest smashed 2 attacks, a kill and a service point. Freshman Karlee Gause swatted in 3 attacks and a service point.
West Bladen’s jayvees, now 5-2 in SAC-6 play and 13-6 overall, will travel to St. Pauls Tuesday.
