BLADENBORO – West Bladen defeated East Bladen 2-0 Wednesday by set scores of 25-11 and 26-24 in non-conference jayvee volleyball action.

Sophomore Kali Allen smacked in 10 service points, 3 aces, a kill and had 3 digs for West. Tah’lea Bethea hammered in 9 kills, 18 attacks and a block. Freshman Ellie Kinlaw pounded in 9 service points, 6 kills, an ace and had 15 attacks and a dig.

Lady Knight freshman Kimberly Dowless dished out 7 assists and dropped in a service point, a kill and an attack. Helaina Conklin finished with 3 service points, 2 attacks, a kill and a dig. Freshman Karlee Gause banged in an ace, a kill, a service point and 3 attacks.

Shanna Lewis drilled in 2 kills and had 3 attacks for West. Jahyra Priest added a kill and an attack.

Aubrie Nixon and Jenna Brice fired in 3 service points each to spark East to a 12-6 lead in the 2nd set. The Lady Knights rallied as Kali Allen and Conklin smashed in 3 service points each, and Kinlaw drilled in 4 more service points to even the set at 20-20. Kali Allen served out the match at 26-24.

Nixon led East Bladen with 6 service points, and Brice tallied 5 service points. Kaylie Atkins added 4 service points, and Tatum Allen and Taylor Dowless had 1 service point each.

Coach Kaitlyn Sykes’ Lady Knights improved to 4-2 and will host South Columbus Monday. East Bladen, now 1-3, will visit Midway Monday.
