LAKE WACCAMAW – West Bladen fought back to win the final 2 sets and edge East Columbus 2-1 Wednesday in non-conference jayvee volleyball action by set scores of 16-25, 26-24 and 25-21. It was the season opener for the Lady Knights.
Kylie Durden fired in 7 aces, 5 service points and a kill for West Bladen. Maddie Walters knocked in 6 kills, 2 aces, 3 service points and had 2 digs. Kaitlyn Brisson drilled in 5 service points and a kill.

Karly Ross sparked the West defense with 6 digs and added 3 service points, an ace and a kill. Marlene Crabtree hammered in 3 aces, 3 kills and 3 service points. Shanyla Hunter contributed 4 digs and a kill., and Marlie Walters slammed in an ace and a service point.
West Bladen will travel to West Columbus Thursday for a 4:30 game.
