BLADENBORO –Kimberly Dowless and sophomores Kali Allen and Jahyra Priest combined for 37 service points Thursday to lead West Bladen’s jayvees to a 2-0 sweep of Lakewood by set scores of 25-6 and 25-19 in non-conference volleyball action.
Dowless topped the Lady Knight attack with 14 service points that included 2 aces and had 1 assist. Allen blistered the court with 12 service points including 2 aces and handed out 2 assists. Priest fired in 11 service points that included 3 aces.
Tah’lea Bethea hammered in 5 kills and 2 blocks for the winners. Freshman Ellie Kinlaw spiked in 5 kills and 2 blocks. Helaina Conklin slammed in 2 kills. Shanna Lewis racked up 3 service points, and Makenna Thurman and Karlee Gause tallied 1 service point each.
Coach Kaitlyn Sykes’ Lady Knights improved to 7-3 overall and will travel to Heide Trask Monday.
