Bladen County professional golfer Kayla Thompson shot rounds of 70-70-76-72=288 to finish tied for 24th place and won $520 in the Taco Bell Natchez Classic Championship this week in Natchez, Tennessee. The tournament was played at Beau Pre Country Club.
The winning score of 270 in the Annika Women’s All Pro Tour event was shot by Erica Smith of Orlando, Florida, who won the tournament by six strokes. She won the top prize of $10,000.
Thompson will next play in the U.S. Open Qualifier April 30 at Starmount Forest Country Club in Greensboro.
Kayla is a graduate of West Bladen High School and UNCW and resides in Clarkton.
