Kayla Thompson of Clarkton garnered her largest professional pay check by placing T4 in the Hot Springs Ladie’s Golf Championship in Hot Springs, Arkansas this week. Thompson shot 74-68=142 and tied for fourth place. The 68 that Kayla shot was the lowest score posted on the second day. The tourney was schedule to run three days (54 holes) but due to rainy weather it was cut to 36 holes.
Kayla will be coming back to North Carolina to attempt to qualify for the U.S. Women’s Open. The qualifier will be held at Mid Pines in Pinehurst. After the qualifier Kayla will venture back to Arkansas to play in the Central Arkansas Open May 12-14 in Conway, Arkansas.
