Clarkton resident and West Bladen and UNCW grad Kayla Thompson put two good rounds together this week in the Oscar Williams Classic at Hurricane Creek Country Club in Anna, Texas.
On Tuesday, Thompson shot 40-34=74 and on Wednesday she fired a 33-39=72. She started out the second round with four birdies on the first five holes. Her two day total of 146 found her tied for 40th place and on the cut line.
Thompson will play the final two rounds Thursday and Friday in the Women’s All Pro Tour tournament. Elizabeth Wang is leading the tournament with 69-68=137 (-7).
