For East Bladen senior Kyle Tatum the awards keep rolling in. Sunday Tatum was selected to the Fayetteville Observer’s All-Cape Fear Region Baseball Team. Tatum had earlier been named the Four County Conference Baseball Player of the Year.
Tatum batted .625 in 2017 as he led the Eagles to an 11-3 conference record that tied West Bladen for second-place in the league one game behind Midway. The 4-year starter at catcher slugged 8 doubles, 2 triples and a home run, scored 33 runs and drove in 34 runs to key the East Bladen offense.
“Kyle has been the backbone of our team,” said East Bladen Coach Russell Priest. I think he is going to do great things – both on-and-off the field.” Tatum has signed to play baseball next season for Coach Robbie Allen at Brunswick Community College.
