RICHMOND, VA – UNC-Wilmington guard Lacey Suggs has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Women’s Basketball Player of the Week after leading the Lady Seahawks to victories over Elon and William & Mary.

Suggs averaged 23.5 points and 6 rebounds per game while connecting on 61.5 per cent of her shots from the field. She connected on 6 of her 9 three-point field goal attempts and made all 9 of her free throw attempts.

The White Lake native scored a career-high 29 points in UNCW’s 76-51 victory over Elon Friday night, shooting 11 for 16 from the field and 5 for 5 from the foulline.

The East Bladen grad racked up 18 points and 8 rebounds in Sunday’s 66-58 win over William & Mary and made a career-high four 3-point shots.

Suggs leads the CAA with a .511 field goal percentage and is the third-leading scorer for the Lady Seahawks with a 10.9 average. The 5-10 junior has started all 22 games as UNC-Wilmington has posted a 7-3 league record and 15-7 overall mark.
