The NC 11 / NC 53 bridge has overtopped, so it has been added to the list. Initial assessments of damage began Sunday. More detailed evaluations with respect to cost, scope, etc, will begin Thursday. The NC DOT district/resident office staff are conducting these evaluations while the focus of our maintenance efforts remain initial removal of debris from the pavement, stabilization of critical routes, and further delineation of hazards that can’t be eliminated.
