Spread the love

By Cheryl Thurston

Welcome to March everyone. They used to say that March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb, but I haven’t noticed that much in recent years in North Carolina. Again, I am reminded that the groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, doesn’t really predict the weather everywhere, and I’m certainly glad that we Carolinians are able to escape the bitter cold of a long winter. Spring is in our air, very refreshing. Are your trees and flower bulbs already blooming? The dogwood trees are especially lovely this year, but I won’t be surprised if an April frost makes them wilt.

I’ve seen the report on the sanitation grades from the inspections performed by the Bladen County Health Department in February, and a couple of my favorite places are on the list. To the fine folks at the BCHD, I say thanks again for keeping us aware and informed. It’s nice to see that the school cafeterias are in such great shape too. Kudos to the hardworking staffs in our City/County Schools. Check out the list below to see if your go-to eateries are listed this month. As always, Bon Appetite!
