Spread the love

Happy Fall Y’all! That crisp autumn air is so welcome, and so is the season of gratitude. Every November I reflect on all the joys of life for which I am so thankful, and there are many. I hope you’ve been enjoying all of the Fall Festivals and are excited to see the upcoming parades. If the persimmon seeds know what they are doing, we could see above average snowfall this winter, or in Bladen County, maybe ‘some’ snow. I jest.

With the fall season comes the shopping season. I see that alerts are being posted about scammers and I confess, they got me. I recently saw an ad on social media to get a free $50 gift for only $5.99. When I didn’t receive anything I called the number that charged my card. They said I had bought only a raffle ticket for the $5.99. I pointed out their deception and they promised a refund. Be on your guard for deceptive ads, and I will too from now on.

As we present the latest report from the Bladen County Health Department on the sanitation conditions of our food supply and those who prepare it, let me say that though no grade appeared beside of Diamond Dave’s in the report, it was inspected. I’ve eaten there many times and will again. Anyone here ever made a typo? I have. Check out the list below to see which eateries were inspected in October. Bon Appetite.
