Two Bladen County girls were members of the Southern Chaos 06 team that won the 10U Gold Bracket in the Top Gun Winter World Series softball tournament in Myrtle Beach, SC this weekend.
Martha Simmons played centerfield, and Lena Trinidad played second base for the Southern Chaos who are based in Lumberton.
Southern Chaos opened the tournament with a 6-3 victory over the NC Spartans. The Maroon Crush defeated the Chaos 7-3, but Southern Chaos fought back with a 9-3 win over the Phenoms-Martin.
Chaos beat the NC Spartans 10-3 then avenged their earlier loss by shutting out the Maroon Crush 7-0. Southern Chaos pounded the Smash 12-0 to force a second championship game then edged the Smash 3-2 to win the title.
