East Bladen’s senior football stars Masion Brooks and Rodney Lacewell will be playing in two prestigious all-star games Saturday at practically the same time in two different states.
Brooks, who rushed for 2,021 yards and scored 39 touchdowns during the 2023 football season, will be playing in The Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas at Viking Stadium at Spartanburg (SC) High School. A 1 p.m. kickoff is scheduled.

Lacewell, an offensive lineman, paved the way for the Eagle offense to rush for 3,574 yards and pile up 4,620 yards of total offense and score 65 touchdowns. He will be playing in the North Carolina Coaches Association East-West All-Star football game at Grimsley High School in Greensboro.
The game had been scheduled for Sunday but was moved to 1 p.m. Saturday due to bad weather forecast for Sunday. A radio broadcast of the game will be available at wearecrn.com.
