The Carolina Civic Center Historic Theater in downtown Lumberton is bringing back a fan-favorite season opener and regular sell-out show on September 15, 2023.  Masters of Soul is a celebration of artists discovered in the Motor City in the 1960s. The show features costumed, fully choreographed tributes to male and female groups of the era, backed by a band of seasoned musicians who have been performing together for decades.

Audiences will relive or experience for the first time the harmonies and smooth moves by acts such as The Temptations, Gladys Knight & The Pips, Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell, Smokey Robinson & The Miracles and many more! The high-energy show is designed for audiences of all ages.

Tickets: Individuals $30, Seniors (60+) and Military $27. Students $15. Group discount rates of $25 each for groups of 10 or more when purchased in advance are available by contacting the box office.

When available they also can be purchased in the theater’s lobby starting one hour prior to show.

GENERAL INFORMATION

The Carolina Civic Center Historic Theater is a beautifully-restored 1928 treasure listed on the National Register of Historic Places that offers visitors a unique and visually stunning experience. The theater is located at 315 North Chestnut Street in the heart of downtown Lumberton.  First opened as a vaudeville and silent film house, the theater offers a wide array of programming including live touring performances, original productions, art exhibits, films, special events and rentals. The Carolina Civic Center Historic Theater is located in historic downtown Lumberton at Fourth and Chestnut streets, just one block north of the downtown plaza. There is plenty of parking around the theater.
