ELIZABETHTOWN — Clarkton School of Discovery rallied for 8 runs in the 6th inning to overcome a 5-1 Emereau Bladen lead and claim a 9-5 non-conference baseball victory Thursday.

The Blue Devils bunched 5 walks, 3 hits and a hit batter in the decisive rally. Cayden Stocks was hit by a pitch, and Zahmarion Pone walked to start the inning. Two outs later Omar Powell and Jerod Smith drew walks that scored Stocks. Prince Powell knocked in Pone and Omar Powell with a double.

Ryne Priest and Cayden Morton drew walks to reload the bases. Stocks smacked a single that scored Jerod Smith and Prince Powell, and Pone hammered a double that plated Priest, Morton and Stocks.

Jerod Smith retired the Aviators on 2 strikeouts and a pop-up in the bottom of the inning to complete his 2nd inning of relief and pick up the win. He allowed a run on 2 walks and no hits while striking out 5. Omar Powell pitched the 1st 4 innings and allowed 4 runs on 5 hits and 3 walks while striking out 6.

Prince Powell batted 2-for-4 with a double, 3 runs batted in and a run scored to lead the Blue Devil hitters. Pone doubled, scored a run and drove in 3. Stocks, Lyric Lawson, Omar Powell and Jerod Smith collected 1 hit each. Stocks and Omar Powell scored 2 runs each. Jerod Smith, Priest and Morton scored 1 run each. Stocks drove in 2 runs, and Jerod Smith had an RBI.

Noah Ray, Lakota Schmale and Stryker Pait shared the pitching duties for the Aviators. Ray batted 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs and a run scored. Pait also finished 2-for-4 at the plate. Greylon Robinson cracked a single, walked twice and scored twice. Eli Woodell walked twice and scored a run. Jag Gooden walked and scored a run. Gunner Lewis had an RBI.

Ray and Pait ripped singles to start the Aviator 1st inning. Gunner Lewis’ fielder’s choice plated Ray. Robinson cracked a 1-out single in the 2nd inning, Gooden walked, and Ray hammered a double that plated Robinson and Gooden.

The Blue Devils trimmed the lead to 3-1 in the 3rd inning. Omar Powell and Jerod Smith rapped singles to start the inning, and Omar Powell scored on Prince Powell’s fielder’s choice.

Robinson walked to begin the Aviator 4th and scored as Ray reached base on an error. Woodell walked and scored in the 5th to stretch the Emereau lead to 5-1.
