WHITEVILLE– Tayler Rose pitched a 3-inning no-hitter and struck out 5 batters to lead Whiteville Central to a 17-2 Waccamaw Middle School Conference baseball victory over Clarkton School of Discovery Monday.
The Blue Devils capitalized on 4 walks and an error to score a pair of unearned runs in the 3rd inning. Omar Powell, Jerod Smith and Cayden Morton drew walks, and Zahmarion Pone reached base on an error as Powell and Smith scored.
Luke McLean batted 3-for-4 and scored twice to lead the Hornet attack. Rose was 2-for-2 at the plate with a run scored. The Hornets capitalized on 6 hits, 9 walks, 4 hit batters and 2 errors to scored their runs.
