WHITEVILLE –Williams Township bunched 6 of their 10 hits in the 3rd inning to score 5 runs and open up an 8-2 lead enroute ton 11-3 Waccamaw Middle School Conference baseball victory over Clarkton School of Discovery Thursday.

Aidan Trinidad led off the game with a single then circled the bases and scored as Hunter Wood and Jaxon Hair reached base on errors to give Clarkton an early 1-0 lead.

The Aggies scored 1 in the home 1st and 2 more in the 2nd inning to go up 3-1. Trinidad started the 3rd inning with a single and a stolen base then circled the bases on hits by Hunter Wood and Noah German to trim the margin to 3-2.

Williams added 2 runs in the 4th inning. Ryne Priest walked to start the Blue Devil 3rd inning but was forced out on Rex Register’s fielder’s choice. An error and Trinidad’s fielder’s choice brought Register home.

Trinidad batted 2-for-3 and scored 2 runs to lead the CSD hitters. Teammates Wood, German and Gabriel Wright connected for 1 hit each, and Register scored a run. German started on the mound for the Blue Devils and struck out 3 batters.

The Blue Devils, now 2-2 in league play and 2-3 overall, will host Nakina Monday.
