CLARKTON – Williams Township snapped a 3-3 tie with nine 4th inning runs and went on to claim a 13-3 Waccamaw Middle School Conference baseball victory over Clarkton School of Discovery Wednesday.
The Aggies racked up 9 hits in the 4th inning and capitalized on 2 errors and a walk to take a 12-3 lead then took advantage of 2 more CSD errors in the 5th inning to tack on another run.
Claxton Tatum slammed a 1st inning double and scored the initial Blue Devil run. Williams battled back with a run in the 2nd and 2 runs in the 3rd inning to take a 3-1 lead.
Tatum reached base on an error in the Clarkton 3rd inning and scored when Dashon Campbell drilled a single. Campbell later scored on an error to tie the game 3-3.
Tatum doubled and scored twice to lead the Blue Devil hitters. Campbell singled, drove in a run and scored a run.
Kyran McKoy started on the mound for the Blue Devils and pitched 3.1 innings allowing 7 runs on 7 hits and 2 walks while striking out two. Jaxon Hair relieved in the 4th inning and pitched 1.2 innings allowing 6 runs on 5 hits and a walk.
Clarkton, now 2-3, will host Tabor City Wednesday.
