Middle School Basketball
Elizabethtown Girls 28, Tar Heel 10

Jatyra Moore-Peterson fired in 13 points to lead Elizabethtown’s Lady Cougars to a 28-10 Bladen Five Middle School Conference victory Tuesday at Tar Heel.

Moore-Peterson tossed in 7 points in the first quarter, and teammate Natalie Gainey threw in 4 of her 6 points in the period as the Lady Cougars raced to a 13-0 lead.

Patience Ward scored 3 of her 5 points for Elizabethtown in the second quarter as the lead grew to 16-2 at halftime.

Moore-Peterson pumped in all 6 of the Elizabethtown points in the third quarter as the lead stretched to 22-6.

Conner Brisson topped the Tar Heel scoring with 6 points, and teammate Claudia Reyes followed with 4 points.

The game was the Bladen Five opener for both schools.
