BLADENBORO – Landon Stanley and Hezekiah Adams combined for 9 points in the final quarter to secure a 31-26 Waccamaw Middle School Conference boys basketball victory for Bladenboro over Elizabethtown Tuesday night.

Bladenboro led 20-15 when Stanley drained a 3-point shot and another basket in the fourth quarter, and Adams threw in 2 baskets. Aaron Lewis added another basket for the Bulldogs.

Dominick Collins tossed in 2 baskets for the Cougars in the final period, and teammates Kewone Maynor, DeJohn Lesane and AaQuan Cotton popped in baskets. Darius Williamson tacked on a free throw.

Stanley led the Bulldogs with 11 points. Adams followed with 8 points, and center Chase Williams dropped in 7 points. DeJohn Lesane topped the Cougar scoring with 8 points, and Collins totaled 7 points.

Williams worked inside for a basket and 2 free throws, and Adams and Stanley netted baskets as the Bulldogs grabbed an 8-4 first period lead. Williamson and Lesane connected for Cougar baskets.

Jemiah Ross and Williams flipped in a basket and a free throw each in the second quarter, and Stanley scored a basket as the Bladenboro lead grew to 16-11 at halftime. Collins drained a 3-point shot, and Williamson and Chace Butler delivered baskets for the Cougars.

Adams and Stanley kept the Bulldogs in front with third quarter baskets, while Lesane answered with a pair of baskets for the Cougars.

Coach Joseph Gore’s Bulldogs improved to 2-1 in league play and 4-2 overall. The Bulldogs will host Tar Heel Thursday night. Elizabethtown, now 1-1 in league play and 1-2 overall, will entertain Whiteville Central Thursday.
