NAKINA – Keyshawn Kemp fired in 15 of his game-high 17 points in the 1st half as Clarkton School of Discovery rolled to leads of 16-2 and 33-4 en route to a 50-15 Waccamaw Middle School Conference boys basketball victory over Nakina Thursday night.
Kemp dropped in 3 baskets then nailed a 3-point shot in the opening quarter. Teammate Dasheon Campbell pumped in 2 baskets and a free throw, and Jackson Smith netted a basket to give CSD the 16-2 lead.
Isaiah Robinson and Hunter Wood buried 3-point shots for the Blue Devils in the 2nd period. Kemp powered in a trio of baskets, Kyran McKoy tossed in a basket and a free throw, and Khalil McKoy added a basket as the halftime lead grew to 33-4.
Khalil McKoy drilled in a 3-ball, and Kemp and Campbell threw in baskets to push the margin to 40-6. Kyran McKoy popped in a pair of baskets in the final period, and Robinson, Campbell and Christopher Callihan sank a basket each.
Campbell finished with 9 points for the Blue Devils, Kyran McKoy followed with 7, and Khalil McKoy and Robinson tallied 5 points each. Caden McRae led Nakina with 4 points.
Coach Robert Mazur’s Blue Devils improved to 4-2 and will host Bladenboro Tuesday night.
