ELIZABETHTOWN – Emereau Bladen raced to a 16-1 first half lead en route to a 26-19 middle school boys basketball victory over Riverside Christian Tuesday. It was the 2nd straight win for Coach Dom Whittington’s Aviators.
Landyn Scott threw in 4 of his team-high 8 points in the opening quarter for the Aviators. Conner Hill, Jayce Hatcher and Henry Simmons tossed in a basket each as Emereau grabbed an early 10-1 lead.
Scott, Simmons and Cooper Long popped in baskets in the 2nd period as the margin swelled to 16-1. Scott, Cyncere Jessup and Tyler Eason pumped in a basket each in the 3rd quarter, and Hill tacked on a free throw to keep Emereau on top 23-9.
Long flipped in a basket, and Gaston Russ sank a free throw in the final period for Emereau. Long and Simmons followed Scott on the Aviator scoring list with 4 points each, and Hill totaled 3 points. Z. Beard led Riverside with 10 points, and J. Perez followed with 9.
Emereau Bladen will host Alpha Academy Thursday at 4 p.m.
