WILMINGTON –Debo Lewis fired in 10 points Tuesday night to lead Emereau Bladen to their 1st boys basketball victory of the season 28-13 over Wilmington Christian.

The Aviators’ Jamari Adams Peterson tossed in the only basket for either team in the 1st quarter, before Lewis pumped in 3 baskets in the 2nd period. Jake Gooden popped in another field goal to grow the Emereau lead to 10-0 at halftime.

Lewis and Jayce Hatcher threw in 2 baskets each in the 3rd quarter, and Conner Hill and Omar Powell netted buckets to push the Emereau lead to 22-5. Hill, Hatcher and Tredon Scott delivered Aviator baskets in the final period.

Hatcher finished with 6 points for the winners, and Hill totaled 4 points. Lennox B. led the Aviators with 8 points.

The Aviators, now 1-4, have had their game scheduled Thursday against Whiteville Central cancelled.
