CLARKTON- Williams Township overcame an early Clarkton School of Discovery lead and defeated the Blue Devils 21-12 in Waccamaw Middle School Conference ‘A’ Division boys’ basketball action Tuesday night.
Hunter Wood and Braylon Johnson threw in 1st period baskets, and Omar Powell sank 2 free throws as the Blue Devils grabbed an early 6-2 lead. However, the Aggies rode a 7-0 spurt to a 9-6 halftime lead.
JaQuan McRae tossed in a 3rd period basket, and Cayden Moore added a free throw to keep Clarkton within 13-9. Moore tossed in a basket in the final period, and Topher Callihan made a free throw for CSD, but the Aggies closed the game with an 8-3 run.
Moore led the Blue Devils with 3 points, P. Smith scored 6 points, and J. Watts followed with 5 points for Williams. Clarkton, now 0-3 in ‘A’ Division play and 1-4 overall, will host Tar Heel Wednesday.
