McCollum, a wingback, broke loose on a misdirection play and scooted 50 yards for a touchdown. Quarterback Hunter Hester tossed a pass to Tyliek McCall for the 2-point conversion that pulled Bladenboro even 14-14 at halftime.

The Bulldog defense took charge after intermission. “Coach Woody Hester started firing his linebackers and we were able to keep pressure on them,” said Bladenboro Coach Tim Benton. “Justin Spaulding stayed in their backfield in the 2nd half.” Spaulding, Lessane and Hester were the 3 linebackers who keyed the Bulldog defense.

McCollum darted 48 yards to the Cougar 2 yard line to set up the 1st Bulldog score of the 2nd half. Hester banged into the end zone from 2 yards out for the go-ahead touchdown, then carried for the 2-point conversion and a 22-14 lead.

McCollum sprinted 45 yards for the final Bulldog touchdown, and Hester powered up the middle for the conversion that pushed the final margin to 30-14. McCollum racked up 143 yards rushing for the Bulldogs.
