Bladenboro scored three touchdowns in the fourth quarter to defeat Clarkton School of Discovery 36-22 Thursday night in Bladen Five Middle School Conference action.
The teams traded first half touchdowns and 2-point conversions that kept the score tied 8-8 at halftime.
Both teams scored touchdowns and 2-point conversions again in the third quarter to keep the score knotted at 16-16.
Clarkton took a 22-16 lead early in the fourth period, but the Bulldogs answered with a touchdown that tied the game again 22-22.
The Clarkton offense racked up 245 yards. Javonte McDowell rushed for 136 yards and 2 touchdowns to lead the Clarkton offense. Teammate Lawson Hester ran for 99 yards, and Teyshaun Berkeley scored the other Clarkton touchdown.
After stopping the Blue Devils, Bladenboro went ahead 28-22 with a touchdown. Following a Clarkton turnover, the Bulldogs put the game away with another touchdown and a 2-point conversion.
Da’Shawn Hines, ShyRon Adams and Trashawn Ballard all scored touchdowns for the Bulldogs and Nolan Bryant caught a 2-point conversion pass from Adams.
Bladenboro, now 3-1, will visit Tar Heel next Thursday, while Clarkton, now 1-3, will host Elizabethtown.
