CLARKTON – Nayshawn Jones and Jaquan McRae combined to score 4 touchdowns and 5 2-point conversions as they led Clarkton School of Discovery to a 46-6 Waccamaw Middle School Conference football victory over Tar Heel in the season finale for both teams.
The Blue Devils struck quickly after a Tar Heel fumble in the 1st period. Quarterback Noah German threw a 40-yard touchdown pass to Azarion Willis. Later in the game German connected with Willis again with a 2-point conversion pass.
Jones broke loose on a pair of long touchdown runs of 24 and 37 yards. Jones also crossed the goal line 3 times on 2-point conversion runs. McRae scooted 45 yards for a 1st half touchdown then raced 35 yards for a 2nd half touchdown. McRae also ran for a pair of 2-point conversions.
The Blue Devils held a 30-0 halftime lead. Topher Callihan blasted through the middle and galloped 40 yards for the final Clarkton touchdown.
Quarterback Keon Whittington kept the ball and darted 60 yards for the Panther touchdown in the 4th quarter.
Coach Kim Cain’s Blue Devils finished the season with a 3-3 record.
