Majuan McKoy ran for 2 touchdowns and 110 yards to lead Elizabethtown to a 16-8 Bladen Five Middle School Conference victory at Bladenboro Thursday night.
McKoy scored touchdowns on runs of 40 and 20 yards for the Cougars who moved into first place in the league with a perfect 3-0 record. Jordan Robinson gained 90 yards rushing in the game for Elizabethtown.
Elizabethtown’s Rasean McKoy caught a 2-point conversion pass from quarterback Lefrederick Wooten, and Cody Butler bulled into the end zone for the other Cougar 2-point conversion.
Da’Shawn Hines dashed 40 yards for the Bladenboro touchdown, and the Bulldog defense scored a safety in the second quarter. The teams were tied 8-8 at halftime.
According to the Elizabethtown coaching staff, “ It was a great defensive game for both teams.” The Cougar defense stopped the final Bladenboro threat on downs with about 2 minutes left to play in the game.
It was the first loss of the season for the Bulldogs, now 2-1, who will host Clarkton School of Discovery next week. Elizabethtown will visit Tar Heel next week.
