ELIZABETHTOWN – Elizabethtown outscored Tar Heel 32-24 Thursday night in Waccamaw Middle School Conference football action.
Jayden Lewis rushed for over 200 yards and scored 4 touchdowns for the Cougars. Mike English scored a defensive touchdown in the 4th quarter to put Elizabethtown ahead to stay.
Prince McKoy rushed for over 100 yards and intercepted a Panther pass in the 3rd quarter. McKoy also ran for a 2-point conversion.
“The defense stepped up in the 4th quarter and gave us some big stops to take control of the game,” said Elizabethtown Coach Ricky Whitaker.
The Cougars improved to 3-3 and are scheduled to travel to Bladenboro Tuesday night.
It was the season finale for the Panthers, who finished the season 1-6.
