TABOR CITY- Freshman JaQuan Lesane scored 6 of his game-high 12 points during a 9-2 closing run that carried West Bladen to a 32-24 non-conference jayvee boys basketball victory over South Columbus Thursday night.

Lesane sank 4 free throws then threw in a basket during the deciding run. Freshman Jamari Adams popped in a basket, and Damarion Bryant added a free throw.

Bryant tossed in a pair of 1st period baskets, and Lesane and Blake Britt drained 3-point shots as the Knights built an early 10-6 lead. Baskets by Justin Spaulding and Adams plus a Sayvion Covington 3-point basket kept West on top 17-15 at halftime.

Lesane and Covington buried 3-point shots in the 3rd quarter for the winners. Covington finished with 6 points, and Adams followed with 5 points.

Jackson Green led the Stallions with 6 points, and Jordan Hardy and Case Simmons netted 5 points each.

It was the 2nd straight win for Coach Joe Harris’ Knights who improved to 2-3 and will travel to Whiteville on Friday, Dec. 15.
