ELIZABETHTOWN – Rylee Chadwick fired in 13 points Monday to lead Bladenboro to a 28-21 Waccamaw Middle School Conference girls basketball victory over Elizabethtown.

Chadwick pumped in 2 baskets and a free throw, and Whitney McLean dropped in a basket for Bladenboro in the first quarter, while Iveonna Ward tossed in 2 baskets, Laila Smith popped in a basket, and Amari Richardson hit a free throw to keep the Lady Cougars tied 7-7 at the quarter break.

MaKayla Wright sparked a 10-2 Lady Bulldog second quarter spurt with a trio of baskets. Chadwick nailed 2 free throws and a basket for a 17-9 Bladenboro lead at halftime. Laila Smith scored the only Lady Cougar basket in the period.

Ward rallied the Lady Cougars with a pair of third period baskets, and Zoe Smith flipped in a basket. A Chadwick basket kept the Lady Bulldog lead at 19-15.

Bladenboro’s Lainey Autry bombed in a 3-point basket in the fourth quarter, and Chadwick, McLean and Mallory Bryan padded the Lady Bulldog lead with a basket each.

Lainey Hughes connected for 2 baskets in the final period for Elizabethtown, and Zoe Smith added a basket.

Wright finished with 6 points for Bladenboro, and McLean totaled 4 points. Ward topped the Elizabethtown scoring with 8 points, and Hughes, Zoe Smith and Laila Smith tallied 4 points each.

Coach Joey Autry’s Lady Bulldogs completed their season with a 10-4 record, and Elizabethtown finished with a 6-6 record.
