HALLSBORO – Rylee Chadwick and Lainey Autry combined for 23 points Thursday to lead Bladenboro to a 32-21 Waccamaw Middle School Conference girls basketball victory over Hallsboro.

Chadwick tossed in a basket and a free throw in the opening quarter, and Mallory Bryan and McKenzie Singletary netted baskets as the Lady Bulldogs grabbed a 7-3 lead.

Center Harmony Sumerville dropped in a pair of baskets for Hallsboro in the second quarter to pull the Lady Tigers to within 13-10. Chadwick fired in a trio of baskets to keep the Lady Bulldogs on top.

Autry sparked an 11-6 Bladenboro surge in the third quarter by nailing a 3-point shot and pumping in 2 baskets and 2 free throws. MaKayla Wright canned 2 free throws to push the Lady Bulldog lead to 24-16 at the quarter break.

Chadwick threw in 2 more baskets in the final quarter, and Wright popped in a basket and a free throw. Autry added a free throw.

Chadwick topped all scorers with 13 points, and Autry followed with 10 points. Wright finished with 5 points. Sumerville led Hallsboro with 11 points.

Coach Joey Autry’s Lady Bulldogs improved to 6-4 with the victory and will host Williams Township Monday.
