TAR HEEL – N. Shaw’s 8 points sparked Whiteville Central to an early 12-2 lead and eventual 25-7 Waccamaw Middle School ‘AA’ Division girls’ basketball victory over Tar Heel Thursday.
ZaAsia Lewis pumped in baskets in the 1st and 4th quarters to lead Tar Heel with 4 points. Teammate Janavia Adams threw in a 2nd period basket, and Genesis Fernandez sank a free throw in the final quarter.
Shaw led Central with 8 points, and A. Smith followed with 4 points.
Tar Heel will travel to Elizabethtown Tuesday.
