WHITEVILLE — N. Shaw poured in 17 points to lead Whiteville Central to a 35-7 Waccamaw Middle School Conference girls’ basketball victory over Tar Heel Tuesday.

The Lady Hornets improved to 6-3 and will visit East Columbus Thursday. Tar Heel, now 0-7, will host Tabor City Thursday.

Shaw fired in 12 points in the 2nd half as Central pulled away from a 10-4 halftime lead. Teammate C. Cord drilled in a pair of 3-pointer shots and scored 6 points.

Abigail Dew tossed in a 1st period basket and a 3-point basket in the final quarter to finish with 5 points for Tar Heel. Genesis Fernanta-Villafuerte scored the other Lady Panther basket.
