CLARKTON — DeAisa Johnson popped in 15 points to spark Tabor City to a 29-11 Waccamaw Middle School Conference girls’ basketball victory over Clarkton School of Discovery Tuesday.
The Lady Eagles improved to 5-4 and will visit Tar Heel Thursday. Clarkton, now 2-6, will travel to play Williams Township Thursday.
A trio of baskets from Johnson and 2 baskets from Aniya Davis propelled the Lady Eagles to an early 10-4 lead. Aniya Willis and Hailey Taylor pumped in baskets for the Lady Blue Devils.
Johnson threw in 2 baskets and a trio of free throws in the 2nd quarter, and Quintasia King added a basket and 2 free throws as the Tabor City lead grew to 23-7 at halftime. Rahnyiah McLean fired in a Clarkton basket and Taylor sank a free throw.
McLean pumped in another basket in 3rd quarter and lead the Lady Blue Devils with 4 points. Taylor followed with 3 points. Kynzlee Woods scored the final CSD basket in the 4th period. A. Davis finished with 8 points for Tabor City.
